To assess the impact of a patient education DVD on outcomes following colorectal surgery.
To evaluate the effectiveness of audiovisual aids in patient preparation for surgery within an ERP.

Main Methods:

Prospective analysis of patients undergoing elective colorectal resection.
Intervention: a 15-minute educational video detailing preoperative, postoperative, and discharge information.
Data collection via questionnaires on patient perception of ERP and video education.

Main Results:

Median hospital stay was 5 days.
100% of patients felt well-informed about the ERP.
88% found the video information adequate, with 28% deeming it very helpful.

Conclusions:
