Coating Guglielmi detachable coils (GDC) with transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) or vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) significantly enhanced aneurysm occlusion in rats. These growth factors promote better clot organization and cellular integration for improved aneurysm repair.
