Summary

Interim (18)F-FDG PET scans can predict outcomes in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Liver uptake comparison or a ΔSUVmax over 75% on interim PET are effective indicators for prognosis.

Analysis of 18FDG PET/CT Imaging as a Tool for Studying Mycobacterium tuberculosis Infection and Treatment in Non-human Primates

  • PET/CT scans performed at diagnosis and after chemotherapy cycles 2 or 3.
  • Interim PET evaluation using a 3-point scoring system, a 5-point scoring system, and ΔSUVmax.
  • Main Results:

    • The 3-point scoring method did not significantly predict PFS or OS.
    • The 5-point scoring method, comparing interim PET uptake to liver uptake, showed significant differences in 5-year PFS (79% vs. 50%) and OS (92% vs. 50%).
    • An optimal ΔSUVmax cut-off of 75% effectively predicted differences in PFS and OS.

    Conclusions:

    • Liver uptake comparison in qualitative assessment and ΔSUVmax >75% in semiquantitative analysis are supported as prognostic indicators.
    • Interim (18)F-FDG PET is a valuable tool for predicting PFS and OS in DLBCL.
    • Interim PET findings should be considered in the prognostic evaluation of DLBCL patients.
