Summary

Circumcision by surgeons resulted in shorter mucosal cuff length (MCL), but neither MCL nor penile length correlated with premature ejaculation (PE) in circumcised men. This study investigated the link between circumcision conditions, MCL, and PE metrics like intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT).

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the impact of circumcision conditions on postcircumcisional mucosal cuff length (MCL).
  • To determine the relationship between premature ejaculation (PE) and MCL in circumcised men.
  • To explore correlations between penile measurements and PE indicators.

Main Methods:

  • A cohort of 200 circumcised men provided circumcision histories and penile measurements.
  • Participants completed the Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool (PEDT) questionnaire.
  • Intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT) was self-reported after measurement.

Main Results:

  • Men circumcised by surgeons had significantly shorter MCL compared to those circumcised by others (p=0.041).
  • A strong negative correlation was observed between PEDT scores and IELT (r=-0.785, p=0.000).
  • No significant correlation was found between MCL, penile length, and PE indicators (PEDT, IELT).

Conclusions:

  • Circumcision by surgeons is associated with shorter MCL, irrespective of the circumcision location.
  • Penile measurements, including MCL, do not appear to be related to premature ejaculation in circumcised men.
  • Further research may explore other factors influencing PE in this population.
