  • Analysis of stability diagrams, bifurcation points, and chaotic behavior.
  • Main Results:

    • Increased photon to carrier lifetime ratios lead to distinct changes in the stability diagram.
    • Codimension-2 bifurcation points exhibit altered characteristics.
    • Phase-locked bistability regions and chaotic dynamics can appear at low pump currents, independent of the lifetime ratio.

    Conclusions:

    • Laser dynamics, including bistability and chaos, are not solely dependent on the photon to carrier lifetime ratio.
    • Low pump currents can induce complex behaviors typically seen at high lifetime ratios.
    • These findings offer a simplified perspective on controlling dynamics in optically injected lasers.
