Published on: August 18, 2015
Insights
This study analyzes modern ischemic stroke diagnostic methods, focusing on instrumental tests for identifying stroke causes, particularly in atrial fibrillation patients. Holter monitoring is crucial for detecting arrhythmias and hemodynamic issues in acute ischemic stroke.
Area of Science:
- Neurology
- Cardiology
- Medical Diagnostics
Context:
- Ischemic stroke diagnosis requires understanding its underlying causes.
- Atrial fibrillation is a common cause of stroke, necessitating specific diagnostic approaches.
- Acute ischemic stroke management benefits from early identification of pathogenetic mechanisms.
Purpose:
- To analyze modern instrumental diagnostic methods for ischemic stroke.
- To evaluate the diagnostic yield of tests in determining stroke pathogenesis, especially in atrial fibrillation patients.
- To highlight the significance of Holter monitoring in acute ischemic stroke.
Summary:
- The article reviews current ischemic stroke diagnostic techniques.
- It assesses instrumental tests for identifying stroke mechanisms, with a focus on atrial fibrillation.
- Holter monitoring of electrocardiography and blood pressure is emphasized for diagnosing arrhythmias and hemodynamic disturbances in acute ischemic stroke.
Impact:
- Improved diagnostic accuracy for ischemic stroke, particularly in patients with atrial fibrillation.
- Enhanced understanding of the role of Holter monitoring in acute stroke management.
- Better identification of stroke pathogenesis, leading to more targeted treatment strategies.
Abstract:
The article contains data on modern methods of ischemic stroke diagnosis. Instrumental tests and their diagnostic yield in determining the pathogenetic mechanism of stroke especially in patients with atrial fibrillation have been analysed. Holter monitoring of electrocardiography and blood pressure has specific significance in patients with rhythm disorders in acute period of ischemic stroke for determining pathogenesis of dysrhythmias and disturbances of central and cerebral hemodynamics.
