Finnish mill workers exposed to sulfur dioxide showed increased cardiovascular deaths, particularly coronary heart disease. Workers exposed to hydrogen sulfide and organic sulfides also experienced elevated cardiovascular and coronary deaths, suggesting a link to these specific exposures.
