Description of different hormonal reproductive programs in cows.
Material And Methods:
Literature review.
Results:
The underlying physiological principles and the implementation of hormonal programs based on the use of prostaglandins and combinations of prostaglandins with GnRH analogues are presented. In this context, the advantages and disadvantages of each program are explained. Based on the Ovsynch program, its modifications, Cosynch, Select Synch, Heatsynch and Ultrasynch, are described.
Clinical Relevance:
The description of the different reproductive programs is designed to assist the attending veterinarian in choosing the optimum strategy for each farm.
