[The psycho-physical fitness of the railways workers]

The world of psycho-physical fitness of the workers in the railways has an important basis on a complex system of national and European laws. Different laws pursue different purposes: Occupational Safety and Health (with a focus on the worker), Transport Safety (which preserve the safety of the community, acting on the human factors) and Road Transport Safety. Many of the Italian National laws already are or are about to become the implementation of European Directives and Recommendations. In addition, on the European and National laws, a big number of documents concerning this specific topic, comes from public Institutes or international associations for railways standardization and has a great impact on the criteria for the medical fitness judgments.
