Rethinking isolation among the married and the unmarried
The American Journal of Orthopsychiatry
|April 1, 1990
Abstract:

Results indicated that social isolation, often regarded as a deficit, may not, in itself, be a reason for intervention, but that a mismatch between actual and preferred levels of social affiliation was more problematic.
