Abstract:
The accuracy of data contained in the Danish vascular database was compared with the case notes. A total of 100 case notes were reviewed for 11 pertinent variables in the database. A high error rate ranging from 2 to 34% was found. Also, approximately 10% of patients had never been entered into the vascular database. Further improvement of the Danish vascular database is necessary for its use as basis for reporting results.
