Summary

Desmoplastic melanoma (DM) shows a higher incidence of nodal metastasis than previously reported, with 18% of patients having positive sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) results. SLNB is recommended for both pure and mixed DM subtypes due to these findings.
