Periappendiceal inflammation in pediatric ulcerative colitis

Periappendiceal inflammation (PAI) is a common skip lesion in pediatric ulcerative colitis (UC). It is more prevalent in newly diagnosed patients and linked to more extensive disease and higher inflammation in the ascending colon.
