Substance use following bariatric weight loss surgery

Bariatric weight loss surgery (WLS) patients showed increased substance use, including drugs, alcohol, and smoking, 24 months post-operation. Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass patients specifically had higher alcohol use. This highlights potential risks following WLS.
