Associations between TNF-α polymorphisms and pneumonia: a meta-analysis.

Genetic variations in tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) polymorphisms, specifically -308A/G and -238A/G, were not linked to an increased risk of pneumonia. These TNF-α gene variants also showed no association with pneumonia mortality in this meta-analysis.

- Furthermore, TNF-α -308A/G and -238A/G polymorphisms were not associated with pneumonia mortality or risk, respectively.
Conclusions:
- The findings indicate that TNF-α -308A/G and -238A/G polymorphisms are not associated with an increased risk of developing pneumonia.
- The TNF-α -308A/G polymorphism does not appear to influence the risk of mortality in pneumonia patients.
