Dasatinib : a novel therapy for breast cancer?

Introduction:
Dasatinib is a novel tyrosine kinase inhibitor with activity against the Src family kinases. The Src pathway is active in breast cancer and has been shown to promote cell proliferation, invasiveness, and metastases. Preclinical data support the use of dasatinib to inhibit breast cancer cell growth, modulate hormone and EGFR signaling, and alter cell migration.
