Epileptic prodromes: are they nonconvulsive status epilepticus?

Prodromes, or seizure auras, are rare in adults (2%). In some cases, these pre-seizure experiences are actually ictal phenomena, indicating nonconvulsive status epilepticus requiring treatment.
