Maternal exposure to particulate matter 10 (PM10) air pollution during early pregnancy is linked to a higher risk of congenital heart defects. Exposure to particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) showed an inverse association with isolated patent ductus arteriosus.

- Increased PM2.5 concentrations showed an inverse association with isolated patent ductus arteriosus (aOR 0.78, 95% CI: 0.68-0.91 per 5 µg/m³).
- No significant associations were found between gaseous air pollutants and CHDs.

- Gestational exposure to PM10 is associated with an increased risk of congenital heart defects, confirming previous findings.
- The observed inverse association between PM2.5 and isolated patent ductus arteriosus warrants further investigation.
