  • Tissue Engineering

Background:

  • Breast reconstruction aims to restore breast appearance after mastectomy.
  • Adipose tissue provides volume, while epithelial cells form the functional gland.
  • Adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) can differentiate into both cell types, offering regenerative potential.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To review current adipose tissue engineering methods for breast reconstruction.
  • To explore biomaterials used in adipose tissue engineering.
  • To discuss the application of these techniques for mammary epithelial tissue engineering.
