The recognition of higher qualifications in the EC

In 1988 the European Commission reached agreement on a directive on the recognition of professional qualifications obtained after three years training in institutions throughout the community. This directive comes into force next year. In this article Michael Jordan explains the effect this will have on those wishing to work in other countries within the EC, and describes how the directive will be administered.
