[Blood coagulation in patients with thyrotoxicosis before and after surgery]
Abstract:
A study is presented of the state of the blood coagulation system in 108 patients with thyrotoxicosis before the operation and on the 1-8 days after surgery. It was established that with increase of the severity of thyrotoxicosis hypocoagulation develops due to reduction of the procoagulant and increase of the fibrinolytic activity of the blood, disorders of the thrombocytic hemostasis component. The first 8 days after the operation are characterized by the prevalence of hypercoagulation changes. For preventing thrombohemorrhagic complication it is necessary before and after the operation to control blood coagulation and initiate adequate correction when necessary.
