Hibiscus taiwanensis effectively lowers blood glucose in diabetic rats by enhancing insulin sensitivity. This herbal extract reduces liver phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) and increases skeletal glucose transporter 4 (GLUT 4).
