Summary

This study investigated gold deposits in the skin of rheumatoid arthritis patients. Different gold forms were found in sun-exposed versus non-exposed skin, but not linked to rashes.

  • Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) of skin biopsy specimens.
  • X-ray microanalysis and electron diffraction for heavy metal content determination.
