Effect of cuff type on arterial occlusion.

Blood flow restriction (BFR) cuffs of the same width but different materials (nylon vs. elastic) do not differ in their ability to occlude arterial blood flow at rest. This finding suggests similar BFR effectiveness regardless of cuff material when width and pressure are consistent.

Special considerations while measuring blood pressure
Monitoring Both Arms:
Monitoring BP in both arms during the initial assessment is advisable, as the systolic value may differ by five to ten mm Hg between arms. For subsequent BP assessments, use the arm with the higher reading.
