Purpose of the Study:

  • Male Copenhagen rats were inoculated with R3327-MatLyLu prostate tumor cells via the tail vein.
  • Temporal occlusion of the inferior vena cava was employed during inoculation.
  • Tumor growth, neurological deficits, and serum markers were monitored.

  • The procedure reproducibly induced metastatic tumor growth in the lumbar vertebrae within 4 days.
