Purpose:
The aim of this study is to assess the influence of the retinal blood vessels segmentation algorithm on the measurement of human retinal microvascular monofractal dimension.
Materials And Method:
Three segmentation algorithms were tested and evaluated on retinal images from STARE database.
Results:
The comparative study was performed in terms of accuracy for measurement of monofractal dimension.
Conclusions:
The development of faster more efficient and more automated algorithms for retinal vessel segmentation are important to achieve more precise data on retinal blood vessels anatomy.
