Background:

Hard senile cataracts present challenges in phacoemulsification.
Efficient energy delivery and fluidics are crucial for successful cataract surgery.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficiency of the new Ozil IP torsional phacoemulsification software.
To compare its performance against standard torsional software in hard nucleus cataract extraction.

Main Methods:

Phacoemulsification was performed on 45 eyes with hard cataracts (Grade III-IV) using the Infiniti platform with Ozil IP software.
The nucleus was split, with one half treated with IP-on and the other with IP-off.
Measured parameters included cumulative dissipated energy (CDE), tip occlusion incidence, and balanced salt solution (BSS) usage.
