  • A 60-year-old male presented with thigh pain and foot paresthesia.
  • Radiographic imaging identified a solitary sciatic nerve lesion.
  • Surgical excision of the sciatic nerve lesion was performed.

  • The lesion was confirmed as a schwannoma.
  • Post-operative recovery was uneventful.
  • The patient's sciatica symptoms resolved completely after surgery.

Conclusions:

  • Schwannoma is a rare but treatable cause of sciatica.
  • Surgical excision is an effective treatment for sciatic nerve schwannomas.
  • Early diagnosis and intervention lead to favorable outcomes.
