Summary

Robotic surgery is a safe and effective option for deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE), particularly for complex cases involving bowel or bladder resection. This study shows its feasibility and attractiveness as an alternative to traditional methods.

Purpose of the Study:

To assess the feasibility of robotic surgery for deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE).

Main Methods:

Retrospective cohort study over 5 years.
Included robotic procedures: segmental bowel resection, rectovaginal septum (RVS) nodule removal, and partial bladder resection.

Main Results:

19 bowel resections, 23 RVS nodule removals, 5 bladder resections performed.
12 posterior vaginal resections also completed.

Conclusions:

This series is the largest robotic DIE study.
Robotics is a safe and attractive alternative for comprehensive DIE treatment.
Especially beneficial for DIE requiring bowel or bladder resection.
