Do elevated hematocrits prolong the PT/aPTT?

Special processing for high hematocrit blood samples (≥60%) is not needed. Our study found no clinically significant changes in coagulation tests (PT, aPTT) with citrate excess, contrary to expectations.

Purpose of the Study:

- Current coagulation testing protocols are adequate for samples within this hematocrit range, simplifying laboratory procedures.
