Summary

Carbohydrate antigen 50 (CA-50) and carbohydrate antigen 19.9 (CA-19.9) show similar reliability for detecting gastro-intestinal cancers. Simultaneous testing of both CA-50 and CA-19.9 is not recommended due to their strong correlation.
