Purpose of the Study:

  • To analyze the clinical presentation, diagnostic challenges, and management outcomes of abdominal tuberculosis.

  • Retrospective review of 28 patients diagnosed with abdominal tuberculosis over a four-year period.

Four patients managed non-surgically responded rapidly to antituberculous drugs.

Conclusions:

  • Abdominal tuberculosis presents diagnostic challenges, especially in emergency settings.
  • Surgical management is frequently necessary, but non-surgical treatment with antituberculous drugs can be effective for selected patients.
  • Prompt diagnosis and appropriate management are crucial for favorable outcomes in abdominal TB.
