Thyroid Doppler indices in patients with sickle cell disease

Sickle cell disease (SCD) patients show altered thyroid blood flow, with higher resistance and pulsatility indices and smaller thyroid volume compared to controls. These changes suggest impaired thyroid microcirculation in SCD.
