Performance of creatinine-based equations compared in older patients

The Berlin Initiative Study (BIS-1) equation is more accurate for estimating glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in older adults than MDRD and CKD-EPI. However, CKD-EPI performs better for advanced chronic kidney disease stages 4 and 5.
