Background:

  • A 16-year-old domestic cat presented with a hepatic myelolipoma.
  • The tumor underwent incomplete surgical removal, with residual tissue remaining.

Findings:

  • The cat survived for two years post-surgery, showing good health despite incomplete tumor resection.
  • This extended survival supports the assumption of hepatic myelolipomas being benign in cats.

Implications:

  • The findings suggest hepatic myelolipomas may have a benign clinical course in cats.
  • Further studies are warranted to confirm the benign nature and optimal management of feline hepatic myelolipomas.
