Summary

Three-unit implant-supported prostheses using two or three implants show similar survival and success rates. This study found comparable clinical outcomes for posterior dental restorations in the short to medium term.

  • Statistical analysis included two-way ANOVA and independent t tests (P < .05).
  • Main Results:

    • 100% survival rate in both groups over 52-58 months follow-up.
    • Success rates were 82% (group 1) and 86% (group 2).
    • No statistically significant differences in marginal bone loss or complication rates, though Plaque Index was higher in group 2.

    Conclusions:

    • Two-implant supported three-unit prostheses demonstrate comparable clinical outcomes to three-implant supported ones.
