Apolipoprotein E genotypes associated with Alzheimer disease and concomitant stroke

The apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε4 allele significantly increases Alzheimer disease (AD) risk. This genetic factor also elevates the risk of stroke in AD patients, particularly in the Tunisian population.
