Summary

Developing objective measures for capsule endoscopy (CE) competence is crucial. Trainees need over 20 CE interpretations to achieve competency, irrespective of prior endoscopy experience, as shown by the Capsule Competency Test (CapCT).

  • To develop and validate the Capsule Competency Test (CapCT) for assessing CE interpretation skills.
  • To analyze trainee competency and correlate it with experience and staff performance.

  • A 6-year prospective study at a tertiary academic center involving gastroenterology fellows and CE staff.
