Factors associated with mortality in tuberculosis patients

- Diabetes mellitus (AOR: 9.7), drug use (AOR: 7.8), and a history of previous TB (AOR: 6.8) also significantly increased mortality risk.
- Of 715 patients, 75 (10.5%) died during TB treatment.

- Close monitoring of co-morbidities such as diabetes mellitus and anemia is vital for reducing TB-related deaths.
- Preventive strategies targeting smoking and drug addiction are crucial for decreasing mortality rates.
- Regular follow-up for patients with a history of previous TB treatment is recommended to improve outcomes.
