Relationship between body fat distribution and upper airway dynamic function during sleep in adolescents

Neck circumference is linked to upper airway collapsibility in adolescents during relaxed breathing, but not during active airway control. Obese adolescents without obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) may be protected by airway muscle activation.
