Altered knee laxity pattern as a predisposing factor to injury of the medial meniscus

Abstract:
Knee laxity was assessed by stress radiography in both knees in 17 patients with unilateral medial meniscectomy and 14 subjects with no history of knee trauma. The antero-posterior laxity in the medial and lateral knee joint chamber were measured separately. We found a relatively greater increase in laxity in the medial chamber of both knees in the meniscecto mized patients compared to the control group.
