Spontaneous ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (sOHSS) can occur due to pregnancy hormones or pituitary adenomas. Genetic mutations in the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHr) can also cause sOHSS, often triggered by specific hormone levels.
