Composite lingual buttons for correction of rotated premolar teeth
1Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital, Bharath University, Chennai, India.
Abstract:
Composite lingual buttons can be an invaluable alternative for bondable stainless steel lingual buttons on the lingual surfaces of rotated premolars as these surfaces are more vulnerable for bond failures due to their varied morphology, inadequate bonding surfaces, aprismatic enamel, salivary contamination and inferior etch pattern. Their use can also be extended to the molars and other teeth as they can be used as attachments for correction of cross-bites.
