Abstract:
A method was developed for the estimation of the number of molecules of immunoglobulin bound to red cells. Solubilization of sensitized, washed red cells was followed by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay of immunoglobulin concentration (SOL-ELISA). This assay gave results that were comparable to isotopic methods, was reproducible, utilised inexpensive reagents and was relatively quick and simple to perform.
