To supplement or not to supplement: a metabolic network framework for human nutritional supplements

This study modeled skeletal muscle metabolism to investigate amino acid supplementation. Results show methionine, arginine, and branched-chain amino acids may boost protein synthesis, while glutamine may not be effective for muscle growth.
