Unilateral nasal allergic reactions increase bilateral sinus eosinophil infiltration

Unilateral nasal allergen challenge increases eosinophils in both maxillary sinuses, suggesting a bilateral response possibly mediated by neurologic reflexes. Eosinophil levels were higher in the challenged (ipsilateral) sinus compared to the opposite (contralateral) sinus.
