Summary

Postoperative steroid use after rhinoplasty offers no long-term reduction in swelling or bruising, only temporary relief. Steroids are not recommended for rhinoplasty recovery but may help with nausea after body contouring surgery.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To systematically evaluate the effectiveness of postoperative steroid use in reducing edema and ecchymosis after rhinoplasty.
  • To review the existing literature on the use of steroids for rhytidectomy and body contouring surgery.
