Comparing macroinvertebrate sampling methods, the Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (EMAP) method offers greater precision for estimating taxa richness in streams. This approach is more efficient than the Rapid Bioassessment Protocol (RBP) for national monitoring programs.

  • To compare the effectiveness of three macroinvertebrate sampling methods: Ontario Benthic Biomonitoring Network (OBBN), Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (EMAP), and Rapid Bioassessment Protocol (RBP).
