Observation:

  • A 28-year-old male presented with a painful, red right breast lump and nipple discharge.
  • Fine-needle aspiration biopsy revealed caseating granulomas, positive for Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
  • No other active TB sites were identified, despite a positive PPD test.

Findings:

  • The patient received anti-tuberculous drugs, leading to complete resolution of the breast lesion.
  • This case underscores the possibility of tuberculous mastitis in males presenting with breast abnormalities.
  • Tuberculous mastitis, though rare, must be considered in the differential diagnosis of breast cancer.
