Individuals with HNF1A-MODY diabetes have lower levels of the pro-atherogenic scavenger protein CD36 (sCD36). This finding may be linked to their favorable lipid profiles, suggesting a potentially reduced atherosclerosis risk compared to type 2 diabetes.
